A few days ago , I received my Wildlife Wonders magazine which I ordered in my school (more information about this can be found at the end of this post) .
Volume 30 of Wildlife Wonders is very useful if you want to learn more extra information on Adaptations (a P6 Topic on Science) .
On the main article of this volume , which is about birds . You can find interesting information about these group of animals through the 'King of The Skies' Show section (more information about this can also be found at the end of this post) like the white-bellied sea eagles .
The white-bellied sea eagles are fish hunters that have little bumps called spicules on the undersides of their feet for grasping slippery fish . This is most probably a structural adaptation ? :)
Other than birds , on the 'Friendly Faces of The Ocean' section , extra information on the dugong's structural adaptation .
The dugong eats about 30kg of food per day . Its dense skeleton keeps it submerged while feeding . It has a downturned and flexible snout with horny pads , adapted for grazing and uprooting seagrasses .So , I am completely satisfied with this volume . However , other volumes are also very useful for general knowledge .
I also hope this information is useful :)
So , if you want to grab this magazine or subscribe to Wildlife Wonders , you can subscribe through your/your child's school as I get mine through my school . My school hold subscriptions for this magazine every year . You can buy past issues , just go to this website : http://education.wrs.com.sg/publications.html or you can subscribe through the magazine itself (there is a subscription page at the last few pages) .
Although I have no idea how to get the magazine itself (the latest issue I mean) , I don't know whether you could buy it at the Zoo . But I hope you would take in full consideration in subscribing to Wildlife Wonders as I have mentioned earlier that it is extremely helpful .
The 'Kings of The Skies' Show is happening daily at the Fuji Hawk Walk at 10am and 4pm as mentioned in the 'King of the Skies' Show section :
Come and marvel at these raptors in the all new 'Kings of The Skies' Show , happening daily at the Fuji Hawk Walk at 10am and 4pm . And be amazed at how these magnificent birds of prey would hunt , not for themselves , but for the falconers whom they have chosen to trust .I think that it is a very educational show . Make sure to catch it :)
And so , I end my post . Thank you readers .
Farewell ,
Nadiana
Credits goes to Wildlife Wonders . Thanks for this awesome magazine ;)
